I am a performance-driven experience designer, intrapreneur, passionate about individuals, teams, cultures and organizations creating products, that engage people, impact and uplift communities. By applying human-centered design philosophies, I use design and technology to improve experiences for people and brands.
I graduated with a Masters from Bangalore University in Reproductive Physiology and endocrinology but my creative side took me on another career path. Early on I began my career in Human resources which made me discover the empathizer in me. Combining empathy and the drive to solve problems led me into the world of experience design. Since then I have maneuvered through the realms of experience design applying design thinking into many things I do both at work and in life.
In the past, I have actively partnered with citizens initiatives that bring about positive changes to the community and the environment. Projects that foster citywide improvements that embraces both digital and physical impact on the citizens and the community.
Professionally I work for a company that is a leader in technology and services that powers higher education forward. I am also pursuing a dual master’s degree (MBA/MA) in Business Administration and entrepreneurship at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and Design Leadership at the Maryland Institute College of Arts, developing innovative, market-based solutions that addresses social challenges and supports business opportunities.
This phase involved researching Penn Avenue East neighborhood in Washington DC. We connected with the local citizens chapter and their committee members to partner with them on unique community projects.
We developed an interactive website for the community to stay connected and a promotional video to tell a story about the community, its history, vision and future dreams. We also have an art project that will connect the community to transform it into an art city.
Planning phase included touring the neighborhood and identifying unique projects that we could embark on and help the community execute these projects by developing plans, deliverable artifacts and raising awareness
We will support the community by developing a strategy that they can implement to continue these projects and further nurture these and make progress. Our goal is to support the committee members and the community to replicate these projects across the region in future.
